What We Do

1.     Create the “ono” for poi and paiai – by helping folks to remember the deliciousness of traditional poi and paiai.  From around 1950 traditionally made poi and pa’i’ai were no longer available to the public for purchase and consumption.

2.     Feed kupuna and sick people – haloa is medicine, if made with the intent to heal.  We have special rates for qualified kupuna and those in need of medicine.  Please email us, we evaluate each opportunity.

3.     Educate – weekly, monthly and one time ku’i education experience.  Check out the Kaholoku’i tab to see when and where the next workshop will be.

4.     Aim to sustain – farmer to the table.  We help link farmers to poi eaters.  Fresh kalo for local delivery or for shipment to all 49 states.  If you are in need of kalo, let us know.  We often but not always have fresh or frozen kalo.

5.      Ono o ka aina – limited supply of weekly, fresh hand pounded paiai for Hawaii and shipment to all 49 states.  Fresh mixed poi is available on Oahu only.
